North Newcastle RLFC were deeply saddened by the passing yesterday of Deb Williams, mother of North’s second row forward Joel Williams who the club signed in 2017 from Lakes United

Country Rugby League continues to provide new opportunities for female participants with the introduction of the… Central Hunter Combined Competition, the competition will see ladies participate in, under-14, under-16, under-18’s and senior women’s 13 a side tackle in the Central Hunter region in 2018.
Over 700 players will take the field this season, with 35 teams across the age divisions confirming their participation in the newly formed CRL Central Hunter Combined Women’s Competitions.
With the National Rugby League’s announcement of a program of events for the women’s game including an NRL Women’s Premiership and National Championship this season;CRL Female participation Officer Kylie Hilder believes regional participants are in a strong position to take advantage of the new opportunities.
“There are a number great opportunities coming up this year, with Country sides being selected to take on City in a trial for NSW State of Origin jerseys and then compete in the
National Championships for places in the Jillaroos squad.
The Women’s CRL Central Hunter Combined Competition will kick-off on Saturday, 7th April 2018, clubs entering teams and contacts will be advised.

Update on Training

Last Saturday the mighty Bluebags conducted their 2nd training session of 2018.Only early days,but a good roll up of enthusiastic players for so early in the season.
Our view is still to field 2 Teams this season.
For current and prospective players who may require more information players please contact Garry Callaghan on 0408278883.
Next training session will be held this Saturday 20th January at the Tafe No 1 Oval at Tighes Hill.All players welcome. Committee will be on hand to answer any questions.

North Newcastle Bluebags to commence Training on Saturday 6th January

Foundation Club the North Newcastle Bluebags will commence the 2018 season campaign with a view to fielding 2 Teams.
We welcome all existing and prospective new players.
Our first training session under new Coach Tony Delaney will be held this Saturday 6th January from 9 – 11am on the Tafe No 1 Oval at Tighes Hill and will continue every Saturday morning through to the 3rd March.For midweek training sessions,we will confirm later.
Committee and Coaching staff will be on hand to answer any questions.

It is with great pleasure we announce our newly elected Life Member,Carol Campbell. It is a privilege and honour that the North Newcastle BlueBags have inducted Carol as a Life Member at last weekends AGM. Carol from a teenager has supported the BlueBags and although ill health this year has stopped her attending a lot of games, it is her North spirit, support and loyalty echoes around the ground whether at Passmore or at home. Also over the years when us Two Blues have struggled financially most seasons,.Carol has dug deep and helped our beloved club and from the bottom of our hearts we thank you.Congratulations Carol. A well deserved North Newcastle BlueBags Life Member.
