North Newcastle Maidens vs Greenacre Tigers – Semi Final

This Saturday at 12:50pm the mighty North Newcastle Maidens take on the Greenacre Tigers at New Era Stadium at Cabramatta in their first ever Semi-Final appearance.
Firstly many congradulations to all the girls, Coaching,Medical and Support staffs on making the Semi Finals at your first attempt. A fantastic achievement, although probably does not come as a surprise to many as the girls have produced a high quality of football from game one this season.
On behalf of everyone here at North Bluebags best of luck for this Saturday.
Do us proud.Up the Bluebags.

Fulltime Score University 32 defeated North Newcastle 25.

Well the season has come to end with the boys going down today in the Elimination Semi-Final at Raymond Terrace but were far from disgraced. The game was in the balance right up and until the 73rd minute.
Trys to Ty Hopley in the 3rd and 16 minute,Shaun Dunn in the 29th minute,Kenny Harding in the 46th minute,Goals to Brent Steggall and Martin Robinson with Brent Steggall adding one Field Goal.

On behalf of the Committee I would like to thank all the players, not only the players that took the park today, but all the players that had participated thoughout the season. For the boys to start from scratch and make the Semi Finals in their first year is a fantastic achievement that cannot be underestimated. The players since the 2nd half of the season have been growing together as a unit and were in the contest in every game. With a bit of luck today we could have gone further but it was not to be.
Also we would like to thank the Coaching Staff, all the medical staff and without their proffessionlism we would not be able to participate,to all my fellow committee members who have worked tirelessly in a variety of roles this season and last but not least, the Wives,Girlfriends and the Supporters that have supported all the players and have got right behind this fantastic club.
We will confirm shortly the time and date for our Presentation Night.

Up the Bluebags.

Dungog game called off due to players injury

Apologies for late update.
Todays game against Dungog was called off in the 3rd minute of the 2nd half due to an injury to Luke Fisher.Luke is OK and was taken to Maitland Hospital as a precaution. At time of Luke’s injury,Dungog were leading 22 – 10.
Trys to Shaun Dunn in the 4th minute and Ty Hopley in the 29th minute. One Goal to Luke Fisher.
On behalf of everyone here at the Bluebags, our thoughts go out to Luke this week in his recovery.

Dungog vs North Newcastle

This Saturday we travel to Dungog, which to date will be our biggest test this season. Stating the obvious, will be expecting to see a big parochial home crowd when we run out. Although we go in as underdogs, our confidence has been building rapidly over the last month, especially after last Sunday’s game where a lot of players played themselves back into form.
Dungog will know they will be in for one hell of a tussle. Luv to see our supporters make the trek up the coast for the game as it will be massive.
Kick-off 3pm.

What a day in front of a good turnout from our old North Old Boys and Ladies. Our lads secured one of the Bluebags top 5 highest point scoring wins of all time?

Best part today was we got off to quick start and just never let up. Something which has been lacking in the previous 4 games.

Hard to pick any stand out players today as all made significant contributions.

Tries to Richard Thomas in the 2nd minute, Kenneth Harding in the 8th minute, Eddie Asiata in the 24th minute, Ty Hopley in 28th minute, Chris Thomas in the 33rd minute, Joel Williams in the 37th minute, Donald Nairn in the 44th minute, Kenneth Harding crossing for his 2nd try in the 48th minute, Luke Fisher in the 54th minute, Ty Hopley crossing for his 2nd in the 56th minute, Eddie Asiata crossing for his 2nd in the 58th minute, Shaun Dunn in the 60 minute, Michael Blake in the 64th minute, Joel Williams crossing for his 2nd in the 66th minute and Brent Steggall in the 68th minute. And what a day for Luke Fisher, converting 14th goals from 15th attempts + a try, 32 point haul. Many congradulations Luke.
No doubt a few of the lads will sleep well knowing they won’t have to participate in a Nudie run.

Thanks to the Old Boys and Ladies that turned up, made a great day better. To our committee who worked tirelessly, especially ladies in canteen, you were magnificent.

Also thanks to our visitors, Maitland United, Glenmore Park Brumbies and John Taylor with his Touchies.

Next Saturday we play Dungog in Dungog at 2.30pm.
