Passing of former player Doug Jones.

 

The North Newcastle RLFC
would like to advise of the passing this morning of former Stockton and Northern Suburbs player Doug Jones.
Doug was a Stockton and Northern Suburbs Junior,Graded with Northern Suburbs in 1957 and moved to the Western Suburbs Magpies (Sydney) from 1958 – 1960,playing in 29 games and scoring 9 trys. Doug also played in the 1958 Grand Final decider against St George.
Our thoughts go out to Doug’s family and friends.

Steve Doran and Garry Callaghan elected as North Newcastle’s 72nd and 73rd Life Members

From today’s AGM and on behalf of the North Newcastle Bluebags RLFC Committee we would like to congratulate our 72nd and 73rd life members respectively Steve Doran and Garry Callaghan.Both men have come through our North Schoolboys,Juniors and Seniors,served in many and varied official roles throughout the years culminating in figure heading our return to the game.Once again many congratulations to both Steve and Garry.

Season wrap for 2018

Well thats a wrap for season 2018.
Not the success we would have all liked in both the Men’s and Women’s competitions this year but none the less on behalf of the North Newcastle RLFC and supporters I would like to thank the following people:

To all our players in both our Men’s and Women’s teams.Results did not come our way,but we hope you enjoyed your time here at the mighty Bluebags. To all the players that received the clubs awards,including leading point scorer Luke Fisher and leading try scorer Ty Hopley many congratulations to you all.
Our Medical staff Mark Davies,Joel Carson,Billy Hooper,Matt Strugnall,Gary Jordan and Pat Williams.Once again many thanks for all your efforts greatly appreciated by all here at our club.
I would like to personally thank President Steve Doran and Vice President Garry Callaghan for their hard work throughout a tough season.A hell of a lot of work goes on behind the scenes that most people dont get to see or know of.I thank you both.
Our Committee comprising of Ron Andrews who took all those fantastic photos and assisted with our Facebook page,Richard Watson our gear steward,Kenny Wilson,Greg Mason,Don Mason,Gary Jordan,Chris Strutt and Joe Brugnoni who all gave up their time to perform a wide variety of tasks on game day.Very much appreciated by all here at the club.Special mention to Joe,who attended the training sessions to assist the coaching and playing squad.
The Carrington crew lead by Greg Jordan is setting up Passmore Oval at each home game.
