Country Rugby League continues to provide new opportunities for female participants with the introduction of the Central Hunter Combined Competition, the competition will see ladies participate in, under-14, under-16, under-18’s and senior women’s 13 a side tackle in the Central Hunter region in 2018.
Over 700 players will take the field this season, with 35 teams across the age divisions confirming their participation in the newly formed CRL Central Hunter Combined Women’s Competitions.
With the National Rugby League’s announcement of a program of events for the women’s game including an NRL Women’s Premiership and National Championship this season;CRL Female participation Officer Kylie Hilder believes regional participants are in a strong position to take advantage of the new opportunities.
“There are a number great opportunities coming up this year, with Country sides being selected to take on City in a trial for NSW State of Origin jerseys and then compete in the
National Championships for places in the Jillaroos squad.
The Women’s CRL Central Hunter Combined Competition will kick-off on Saturday, 7th April 2018, clubs entering teams and contacts will be advised.
